Michael J. Tighe
Industrial Cleaning Products Inc.
West Boylston, MA
My company, Industrial Cleaning Products (ICPI) in West Boylston, MA, has been a member of ISSA since 1992. We have been ardent supporters of both ISSA and the New England Sanitary Supply Association (NESSA). We have attended every ISSA tradeshow since 1992 when my company was founded.
Currently, I am Immediate Past President of NESSA, having served as the President of the Board of Directors from 2006-2008. Our membership grew in those years and we have been able to annually support the ISSA Scholarship Fund through our very successful golf outing. We have also co-sponsored the ISSA regional meetings. In October of 2008, I was elected as a member of the Board of Directors for Triple-S of which we have been members for only five years.
I graduated from Merrimack College in North Andover, MA with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and I also hold a Masters Degree from Syracuse University. I recently was an adjunct professor at Nichols College in Dudley, MA teaching Small Business Management, Marketing and Managing Innovation.
I began my career in the jan-san industry in 1987 with Sani-Mate Supply in Worcester, MA. In 1992, my partner Fran Tighe and I opened ICPI. I now have over twenty years experience in our industry and I continue to take on and welcome new challenges.
I believe I could represent the next generation of jan-san executives and help ISSA meet their personal and professionals needs. This opportunity would also broaden my knowledge, and allow me to give back to the industry that has been so good to me and my family. If elected, I would try to help ISSA develop an outreach program to colleges to attract more young talent to the industry and enhance ISSA's relationships with affiliate organizations such as NESSA and NJSSA so that these important regional groups can bring more legislative outreach to their states.
